Visual Critique of Vacuum Cleaners
Documentation: Paper
Project Duration: Spring 2007
As part of our experience design class we were asked to do a design critique of two vacuums. I chose two hand held vacuums the Dyson Root 6 and the Dirt Devil Kone. My primary argument is that the Dyson is targed to a male audience due to it looking like a drill. On the other hand the Kone is targeted to a female audience due to it's variety of color scheme matching colors and art piece type design. My secondary argument is that design can often trump other factors such as power and battery life. The short paper describes in detail the arguments.
